Application Guidelines

The AEU’s academic programs and facilities are open to students of all Christian denominations who meet the standard requirements for admission. The AEU desires only qualified students and personnel who are committed to Jesus Christ. However, AEU does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, or any other programs and activities.

Prerequisites

Students who apply for the Associate of Arts in Ministry Leadership (AAML) or the Bachelor of Ministry Leadership (BAML) programs must hold a high school diploma or its academic equivalent. Students who apply for a master’s degree at the University must hold a four-year college degree (BA or its academic equivalent). No exception will be made for degree-seeking students. Students who desire to take a course by audit will not be subject to this prerequisite.

Return of Title IV (Federal) Funds

1. For withdrawal

If you withdraw from the university and have received financial aid, any refundable amount of your institutional charges (tuition and fees) may be returned to the appropriate financial aid sources. You may be expected to repay the “unearned” portion of your financial aid if you withdraw from school or receive any combination of non-passing grades (F, N, W, or X) in all courses in a particular term. You are also required to complete exit counseling.

Your withdrawal date is the date that you inform a university official that you will be withdrawing from the university. This date is stored with the Office of the University Registrar and used to recalculate financial aid eligibility.

2. Overpayment Funds

Any amount of unearned grant funds that you must return is called an overpayment. The maximum amount of a grant overpayment that you must repay is half of the grant funds you received or were scheduled to receive. You do not have to repay a grant overpayment if the original amount of the overpayment is $50 or less. You must make arrangements with your school or the Department of Education to return the unearned grant funds.
